SomnoBelt® anti snoring belt (also known as sleep apnea belt) prevents positional snoring and sleep apnoea. That means patients who snore or suffer from obstructive sleep apnoea primarily in back position. In contrast to sleep in a lateral position, sleeping on the back encourages snoring and nocturnal breathing stops. In this sleeping position the tongue and soft tissue can fall backwards and close the upper respiratory tract. SomnoBelt® is worn at night and prevents the user from turning from the side to the back.
We manufacture SomnoBelt® in Germany. The padded and length-adjustable chest belt is made of a tear-resistant nylon. Individual adjustment possibilities of the belt tension as well as the inner cushion provide a high wearing comfort. The flexible straps in the chest area ensure that the user does not feel cramped when breathing in or out. A zippered pocket for the padded inner cushion is integrated into the belt. The high-quality cushion is filled with a mixture of polyester fiber and foam flakes. Both fillers are certified according to OEKO-TEX®. The practical velcro fastener ensures that SomnoBelt® snoring belt does not slip while sleeping.
In addition, we offer an air cushion inflatable by mouth which is space saving and with its low weight particularly suitable for travel.
Due to its shape and size, the anti snoring belt is comfortable to wear. It is especially suitable for patients with normal weight or a slight overweight. We recommend our more robust SomnoCushion® Pro anti-snoring backpack for heavily overweight patients (BMI from 28/29). Patients suffering from obstructive sleep apnoea should consult their medical professional before starting positional therapy with positioning aids.
SomnoBelt® is available in two sizes: size 1 (S – M, chest belt 108 x 19 x 8 cm), size 2 (L – XXXL, chest belt 143 x 19 x 8 cm). The sizes comply with your clothing size of tops.
Clean the chest belt with a damp cloth if necessary. To clean the inner cushion cover, remove the filling and hand-wash the cover with colour detergent at 30-40°. Dry the cover in the air and refill it.
Positional therapy is accompanied by a training effect. This is why most users no longer have to wear positioning aids every night after a few weeks as the body gets used to the lateral sleeping position.
The use of the sleep positioning aids is supportive and useful also in patients who use other anti snore devices, e.g. CPAP masks, oral appliances or a our Airmax nasal dilator.
